Experience

Quality, Process and Tech
Lead Engineer
BORGWARNER
July 20 - June 24
Spain (Remote)
My journey in this company, also within the automotive sector, marked a significant advancement from my previous position. I led a team of quality engineers across several projects, guiding them to achieve their quality objectives. During this time, I became a certified ASPICE assessor, which not only enabled me to officially participate in assessments but also deepened my understanding of the ISO standards. My responsibilities included defining company-wide strategies for development and management processes and overseeing tools like Polarion and Jira.
During this time, I also served as a tools and process architect, bridging process definition with technical process automation. As the global administrator for Polarion, Jira, and Confluence, I managed the global configuration for the business unit. This role involved aligning global strategies with other business unit representatives, initiating automation projects, and working towards harmonizing configurations globally. These efforts streamlined the deployment of new projects in the tools.
In addition, I designed and developed a comprehensive framework from the ground up to automatically measure and display quality KPIs across projects. This custom software solution leveraged my role in harmonizing global configurations for the tools, making it a highly efficient project. It significantly reduced manual effort, saving many hours of work and proving to be a highly profitable initiative for the company.

Spain (Barcelona)
This position introduced me to the world of product development in the automotive industry, making me a better quality engineer building upon what I had learned in HP and increasing my knowledge and competencies due to the need to comply with strict international standards for electronic product development. My day to day activities as a Quality Lead Engineer included the execution of regular reviews of the team’s work and the releases to guarantee that they complied with the applicable standards (ASPICE, ISO26262, Misra C rules, etc). I also was responsible to coach the development teams, and support and help them achieve the quality goals that we have agreed upon with our customers. This included my involvement during customer assessments where the future of the project was in stake. I was also responsible to report the status of the projects from the quality assurance standpoint to the project managers and engineering directors.
